Based on a small postcard set of original silver gelatin prints in an envelope from the 1930s, this rephotographic series revisits touristic Prague in the 2000s. The famed locations which have long underpinned Czech culture remain preserved underneath the flood of visitors to these historic sites and today’s commercialized environment. The small-scale postcard set from the time of the First Republic was given to me by my grandfather and is from the time when these images were distributed as original gelatin silver prints created in a darkroom.
