The two handbound books of the Zancudo Projects are now completed with a limited edition of 3 copies. I finished sewing on the covers yesterday. The structure is one that I have developed for the light weight folded pages on the Awagami paper and there is a wonderful tactile quality. The textured cover paper I am using is supported by an inserted, but not glued, card so that the surface remains soft and mobile in handling. The spine additions reflect the themes of the books – strips of plastic food container for the washed-up plastic waste series and worn pieces of walnut for the beach tracks images that reflect the scraps that the surf deposits on the sand.
These are exquisite, small volumes, just 6×7 inches (15x18cm). They will be available from myself directly or by contacting Robert Wright Books.
