After 5 decades, I managed a visit to my MIT roommate, Adrian Bejan, at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. I was able to give a short presentation to his Masters level engineering students about creative thinking and take them through an activity of responding to some of my Urban Drift books as an example of my process of observation – reaction – analysis – synthesis that I have used with art students over the years. This is a facilitation process that we learned in training sessions at Gallery 44 many years ago.

Adrian Bejan is the visionary behind the Constructal Law which is unifying thinking about the forces determining development and flow in all things from the natural world to human societies. Future participation in the annual Constructal Law Conference will be planned.
